Re-assessments sent out – Open Book and Board of Review Announced

Re-assessment letters were sent and should be in your mailboxes this week. Please READ the letter that explains the process and review your assessment increase before calling the City Assessor. If you have questions, now is the time to contact him. Leave a message and he will call back. He will review your information with you, and if you still need to meet with him he will schedule an appointment with you on Monday, October 21st. The total average assessment went up 98% City wide. This doesn’t mean your taxes will necessarily go up. The letter explains how to calculate your increase in assessment and if you are right around the 98% average your taxes would remain similar to last year if all levies from last year (county, school and city) remained the same.
